Sorting Geography
In development

Put the world in order

Five countries. One question. One right order. A daily geography game built entirely on real figures — each one showing you exactly where it came from.

Which of these has the longest coastline?

  1. Canada
  2. Indonesia
  3. Norway
  4. Japan
  5. Chile

You drag them into order and find out at once — not just whether you were right, but by how much, and which pairs you had the wrong way round. Then the harder version of the same fact: which has the most coastline for its size? Canada no longer wins. The Maldives does.

A puzzle a day

One daily puzzle everyone in the world gets, the same for you and everyone else, playable offline. Plus endless play whenever you want more.

Real numbers, shown honestly

Every figure names its source, its publication and its year. Your score is one number, and you can always see the arithmetic behind it.

It teaches while you play

Getting it wrong tells you something true: which country actually has more, and by how much. That is the whole point.

The world opens up

You start with countries most people know and earn your way outward, unlocking new places and new questions as you play.

Why sorting?

"What is the area of Kazakhstan?" is a fact to memorise. "Is Kazakhstan bigger than Argentina?" is a judgement you can actually make — and get better at. Relative judgement is a skill people enjoy exercising, and one that improves with practice. That is what the game trains.

Honesty, specifically

Puzzle games can be loose with numbers. This one is not. Every value is traced to a single named publication with a date, and if a source has nothing to say about a country then the game says so rather than filling the gap with a zero. Where the licence for a figure does not permit us to use it, the question does not ship — even when losing it hurts. The full list of sources is published here, generated from the data the app itself carries.

When?

In development, for iPhone and Android. No release date yet — it ships when the questions are good and the data is right.

A note straight away to confirm, then a message when the game ships and when new ways to sort arrive. Nothing else, and no trackers on this site. Every message carries an unsubscribe link, and using it deletes the address.
